The King's Avenue Health Development
Damian was frustrated to hear of the shelving of the King’s Avenue Health Development in Ashford not only because this is the first real hit for the public sector because of the economic downturn, it is the length of time that the old Ashford hospital has been lying unused. There have been a series of projects over the last decade to make a proper use of this NHS land and Damian thinks there ought to be another top-class modern health facility near the town centre. The best hope is that the land can stay in NHS hands while someone works out what can be salvaged from the previous project.
Damian will be continuing to support the NHS in trying to keep the land for health use.
